Aim to emphasis the importance of core values through English activities and to strengthen students’ confidence in speaking English.

 Choral Speaking groups performed in the morning assemblies and in the PTA Annual General Meeting.

  

 Cambridge Course

 In order to border students’ learning experience and build up students’ confidence in using English, Cambridge courses are arranged on Saturdays.

  

 

 

 Phonics Course

 To build up students’ confidence in pronouncing English words and reading aloud, phonics courses are arranged on Saturdays.

 

 

Speaking Programme

Speaking programme for P.5-6 students help build up students’ confidence in speaking English and assist students in equipping a better interview skill for school admission

 

 

 NET Lessons

The NET is responsible for creating and maintaining an English environment in the school, and arousing students’ interest in learning English. The NET works in collaboration with the local English Teachers to plan and teach lessons for students.

 

 

English Corner Activity

Students are encouraged to play English games, read English books, watch videos, listen to songs and talk with the NET, Mr Shamus and English helpers in the English Corner on Wednesdays. 

Enchancement Class

 

Students are placed into different classes according to their level of English. To cater for learner diversity, every class has their own learning goals and schedules according to their abilities.

  • To encourage students to actively discover the fun in reading

Fun activities are arranged on Wednesdays in the English Room. Students play games, read English books and share their opinions on different topics.

Tongue Twister Activities

Tongue twister activities encourage students to practice and improve pronunciation and fluency.  Students participated in the activities happily.

Nearly a hundred and eighty students participated in solo verse speaking, choral speaking or dramatic scene this year. Students enjoyed performing on stage.

Our drama team won the 1st runner-up in the dramatic scene competition.

 

Chinese Cultural Week

 

The English game booth provided opportunities for students to learn the English names of some traditional Chinese food. Students were engaged in the activity.

‘Jump into English’ Workshop 2018-2019

Secondary Two to Secondary Four students from Leung Shek Chee College visited our school on 3oth January, 2019 and served as facilitators guiding our students through interactive and relaxing English games. Through the meaningful activities, our students gained confidence in speaking English and exposure to English learning.

English Fun Day

The activities provided opportunities for students to learn English through lively games and practise their spoken English.

 

Focus Inspection

 

The Education Bureau conducted a focus inspection in our school in December.

 

English Workshop

 

An English workshop was provided to our English teachers in May. It focused on catering for learner diversity through the strength-based approach (SBA).

Book Report Competition

P.1 to P.6 students participated in a book report competition.

Good Work Sharing

Students’ good work was shown on the English walls and displayed on Parents’ Day.

Korea Study Tour

30 students from P.5 joined the Korea Study Tour in June. They visited a primary school to participate in sharing cultural activities.
